Sandy Springs Extends MLK Humanitarian Award Nomination Deadline

The city will now accept nominations until 10 a.m. Monday, Dec 22.

Residents who may have forgotten to submit their nominations for Sandy Springs’ 2015 Humanitarian Award have a little more time.

The city has extended its deadline from noon Friday, Dec. 5 to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 22, the city said on Friday.

The nomination form can be found on the city’s website. The award recognizes an individual who embodies Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s history of character and service.

Nominees must live or work within the city of Sandy Springs to be eligible for nomination.

A volunteer committee will review all nominations and select the award recipient. Hugo Mullins, CEO and owner of Family Ties Inc., received the award in 2014.

The award will be presented during Sandy Springs’ annual MLK Day festivities, which fall on January 19, 2015.
