Woodstock Marching Band Will Perform in Ireland's St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Marching Wolverine Band will be one of 11 bands from colleges and high schools across the U.S. taking part in the invitation-only event.

Nearly 100 members of the Woodstock High School Marching Wolverine Band will perform in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland, next week.

The Wolverines will be one of 11 marching bands from colleges and high schools across the United States — and the only one from Georgia — to participate in the invitation-only event.

The parade is the pinnacle of a four-day cultural festival in Dublin and draws a crowd of more than 500,000 spectators.

Band Director Bob Loehr said 94 students, along with 50 parent/chaperones, will be making the trip, leaving this Saturday. A Dublin television crew has arranged to greet them at the airport in Dublin to cover the arrival of one of the marching bands from America.
