ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Mayor Thomas Hayes, who has served on the Arlington Heights Village Board since 1991, is not seeking re-election next year, according to a report. The Daily Herald is reporting Hayes will not be on the April 1, 2025 ballot.

Hayes, who has lived in Arlington Heights since 1983, previously served on the board as a trustee before being elected Village President in 2013. Hayes, an attorney-at-law, and his wife, Susan, have two children, according to the Village of Arlington Heights website.

Hayes told the Daily Herald he believes the Chicago Bears will make a decision on whether to build a stadium at the former Arlington Heights Racecourse before his term concludes.
