Mobile Coronavirus Testing Lab To Make 2 Stops In Aurora

AURORA, IL — State officials are sending a mobile coronavirus testing unit to Aurora this week to bolster local testing capabilities.

The mobile unit is set to spend two days in the city, with testing available Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church Harkness Family Center and on Saturday at Cowherd Middle School, according to a news release. Tests are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Kane County Health Department officials encouraged anyone who has been recently exposed to a potential or confirmed coronavirus case to get tested. Those who want to be tested must provide a name and phone number so officials can reach them later with their test results. A photo ID is not required.

Those who want to remain in their cars during the test must be seated at a functioning window, though both sites will also allow people to walk up, officials said. Test results should be available within four to seven days, officials said.
