Woman Injured In Shooting On Aurora’s East Side

A 20-year-old woman was in stable condition Friday after being shot Wednesday night, Aurora police said.

AURORA, IL — A 20-year-old woman was shot Wednesday night on Aurora’s east side, according to police.

Aurora police were called around 11:15 p.m. to the 1600 block of Northeast Drive by residents who reported gunshots were fired, according to police spokesperson Paris Lewbel.

Officers found shell casings in the area but there was no sign that anyone was injured, Lewbel said. Police also found a home in that block was hit by at least one bullet.

Staff at Copley Hospital called police shortly after to report a 20-year-old woman was suffering from gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening, Lewbel said. The woman was in stable condition Friday, police said.

Police also found a car with bullet holes in the hospital parking lot, the Aurora Beacon-News reports.
