New Sport In Works At Hinsdale D86

The district has found interest at Central. South students could take part on Central's team, a memo said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale High School District 86 is looking to add a girls flag football team at Hinsdale Central. Officials say they have not found enough interest at South.

The school board is set to vote on the team at its meeting Thursday. If approved, the fall sport would start next year.

According to a memo, the district could complete Illinois High School Association requirements before Aug. 1 to let South girls take part on the Central team.

The estimated costs for the team total $28,900 – $7,000 for a head coach, $4,900 for an assistant coach, and $17,000 for uniforms, equipment, transportation and officials.

The current girls fall sports are cross country, golf, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball.
