3 Jump From Burning Joliet House To Escape Fire

Based downtown, Station 1 firefighting crews responded to Sunday's fire and encountered heavy smoke.

JOLIET—Facing the possibility of death, three Joliet residents bravely jumped from their burning house on Joliet's east side, in the 600 block of Ohio Street, on Sunday, according to Joliet Fire Department officials.

Firefighters from Station 1, based in downtown Joliet, responded to Sunday's fire and encountered heavy smoke. Three people from the house also needed medical attention after jumping several feet to the ground below in order to survive the fire.

The fire's cause remains unknown and is being investigated by Joliet.
