Ex-Con Punched Nurse in Face, Broke His Glasses: Cops

The ex-convict also bit another nurse, police said.

JOLIET, IL — An ex-convict complaining of chest pain after he was caught with a crack rock and pipe punched a nurse in the face — breaking his glasses — and then bit another nurse, police said.

Antonio Pierce, 53, had been out of prison for all of 38 days when officers allegedly caught him with the crack and the pipe shortly before 4 a.m. near the corner of McDonough and Ottawa streets.

Pierce was taken into custody. At the police station, he reportedly complained of chest pain and was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center.

After he reached the hospital, Pierce lashed out at the two nurses, police said.

Pierce was admitted to St. Joe’s but ended up at the Will County jail after he was checked out and released from care.

Pierce is on parole after doing time for theft. He had previously been sent to prison for drugs, aggravated battery and armed robbery.
