LAKE FOREST, IL — The information below comes from Lake Forest police and Lake County courts as a record of those arrested by police. Being arrested does not mean a person is guilty of the charged offense. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state are often dropped or reduced. Everyone named below is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. Updated information about the following cases may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 34-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 12:45 a.m. on May 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Route 41 at Gage Lane. Officers spotted him speeding in a Hyundai SUV and determined he was intoxicated. He was also issued citations for speeding, illegal possession of cannabis by a driver and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol.

Dimitri Dixon, 30, of the 1100 block of McAlister Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. on May 26 and charged with armed habitual criminal, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license after police pulled him over driving 90 mph on Route 41 near Gage Lane. Police also issued him citations for speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

A 21-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on May 31 and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident after police were called to a report of a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. Following an investigation, they identified the man as the driver of an Acura involved in the crash. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

A 20-year-old Waukegan woman was arrested around 2 p.m. on June 1 and charged with retail theft and illegal possession of alcohol after police responded to a theft at Sunset Foods, 825 S. Waukegan Road and determined she had just stolen liquor from the store.

A 33-year-old Waukegan man was arrested around 9:46 p.m. on June 1 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were dispatched to a report of unsafe driving on Route 41 at Old Elm Road and found a driver who appeared to be intoxicated. Officers also cited the man for improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured vehicle.

A 28-year-old Zion woman was arrested around 11:45 p.m. on June 2 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license suspended and child endangerment after officers got a report of a dangerous driver on Route 41 at Old Elm Road. Police found the woman's breath smelled like alcohol and she had a small child in the car with her. She was also cited for improper lane usage and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol by a driver.

A 56-year-old Addison man was arrested around 6 p.m. on June 3 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers spotted a suspicious vehicle on Everett Road and spoke to its driver when he pulled into a driveway on Arcady Drive.

A 33-year-old Great Lakes man was arrested around 6:03 a.m. on June 9 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a Ford truck was found abandoned and partially submerged in a creek on Laurel at Hawkweed Lane. He was located and identified after a brief investigation and was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Salvador Alanis-Moreno, 27, of the 900 block of Lenox Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. on June 9 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs, driving with a suspended license and speeding more than 35 mph above the limit after he crashed into a traffic standard and flipped over his car at Route 41 and Route 60. Lake Forest Fire Department crews had to extract the man from his Chevrolet Spark after he was trapped inside. Officers also issued him citations for improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. A judge later denied him pretrial release and ordered him detained.

A 32-year-old Lake Forest woman was arrested around 6 p.m. on June 12 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, unlawful possession of cannabis and driving an uninsured vehicle after police were dispatched to a call about a person pounding on a front door asking for help in the first lock of South Suffolk Drive. Officers found her car was disabled and suspected that she was under the influence of narcotics.

A 61-year-old Highwood woman was arrested around 11 a.m. on June 13 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop on Waukegan Road at Knollwood Drive. Officers also issued her a citation for improper lane usage.

A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 1 p.m. on June 16 and charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon after officers found he had a loaded Glock handgun in his waistband while riding in a car. Police had pulled over the car for an equipment violation on Route 41 and Old Elm Road and made everyone get out of the car to search it. Police reported they are continuing to investigate the additional guns they found during the stop.

A 31-year-old Gary, Indiana, woman was arrested around 1:47 a.m. on June 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and with suspended registration following a traffic stop on Route 41 at Old Elm Road. Officers also issued her citations for improper lane usage, driving an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol and disregarding a traffic control device after she failed to stay in her lane. Her passenger, a 29-year-old Park Forest woman, was charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a firearm after the stop.
