NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Shana R. Kamish, of Wheeling, is accused of improper lane usage, felony aggravated driving under the influence, felony DUI with intoxicating compounds, and was arrested June 21 at Dundee and Landwehr roads. She was released and assigned a court date of June 24.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Alexander Daniel, of North Chicago, is accused of having an expired registration, driving while license suspended, and was arrested at 11:04 p.m. June 21, in the 3100 block of Willow Road. A court date of July 30 was assigned.

Bernard M. Eurby, of Chicago, is accused of speeding (57 mph in a 40 mph zone), having a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested 10:34 p.m. June 25, at Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 2.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT/FRAUD

A Skokie Boulevard resident reported at 5 p.m. June 20, they had received a fraud alert from their PayPal account indicating someone used it for a Doordash delivery. The complainant checked his account and found there were four fraudulent expenses, all in New York, where someone accessed his account to pay for food deliveries.

ONLINE SCAM

A Somerset Lane resident reported at 3:26 p.m. June 22, he had found an individual online selling sports tickets. He sent $222 via a money app to the person, but never received the tickets. The complainant tried several times to reach out to the person, but never got a response.

RETAIL THEFT

  • The manager of a resale shop in the 4100 block of Dundee Road reported at 5:02 p.m. June 22, someone came into the store and loaded up her shopping cart with clothing and miscellaneous items. The person pushed the cart toward the exit doors while watching the cashiers. They left with all the items without paying and fled in a grey Volvo.
  • The management of a grocery store in the 1100 block of Church Street reported at 4:13 p.m. June 25, that after reviewing their surveillance footage, they noticed someone came into the store with a backpack on June 24. The person walked over to the liquor isle and placed six bottles of Cognac liquor, valued at $341.94, into his backpack. They left the store without paying.

THEFT

  • A Spring Hill resident called police at 6:16 p.m. June 22, to report when he arrived at his fitness center, he remembered putting his wallet in his locked locker. When he arrived home, he realized he didn’t have his wallet with him. The staff checked his locker that he used, and the wallet was not there.
  • A citizen reported at 6:32 p.m. June 27, someone had stolen her Air Pods Pro earphones, valued at $199.99, while she stayed at a hotel in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE

A Sanders Road resident called police at 6:46 p.m. June 22, to report she had locked her purse inside of her 2020 Honda in a parking lot. Approximately five hours later, the complainant received messages from her credit card company that purchases were being made at various stores. She walked back to the car and noticed her purse was missing from the car.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A citizen reported at 7:14 p.m. June 26, she had parked her 2022 grey Volkswagen in a parking lot of a shopping center in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. When she returned, she found lettering carved in the paint of the left passenger door.
