Worth Woman Drops Off Inhaler Containing Heroin at Chicago Ridge Jail: Prosecutor

Prosecutor says woman was bringing inhaler to friend in jail.

A Worth woman was arrested after she brought an inhaler containing heroin to the Chicago Ridge police station to give to a prisoner in jail, prosecutors said in court Monday.

Lauren Yozze, 28, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Other charges may be forthcoming.

The prosecutor said that Yozze brought the inhaler to the police station around 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3. When a Chicago Ridge police officer and detective examined the inhaler, they found a foil packet of heroin covered with chewing gum inside, according to the complaint.

Yozze claimed that her friend told her where to find the inhaler in his home and to bring it to him in jail, the assistant public defender said.

“That is mind boggling the allegations that I heard,” Judge Felice said.
