Fire Closes Roosevelt Road In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — A fire closed Roosevelt Road on Sunday afternoon in Wheaton, authorities said.

City officials asked drivers around 3 p.m. to avoid the major thoroughfare between Shaffner Road and South Hazelton Avenue. Emergency personnel closed the street while responding to a structure fire near the 2200 block of West Roosevelt Road, according to authorities. The blaze occurred in the area of a commercial stretch on the west side of town near Belleau Woods.
