Portillo's Lemon Cake Returns To All Spots, Including Indiana's

Portillo's announces the return of the brand's famous Lemon Cake on this day: More

FISHERS, IN -- Customers at Portillo's Fishers location can soon experience a spring favorite from the Chicago area-based restaurant. Portillo's is celebrating the seasonal return of the restaurant's previously discontinued Lemon Cake on April 10. The fast casual concept chain known for its menu of Chicago-style favorites announced the return of the cake which is baked every day in-store, featuring two yellow cake layers, each topped with lemon frosting.

Portillo's says the Lemon cake returned last year after being "retired" for over a decade after a reddit user offered a $300 bounty for anyone with details on how to get the recipe.

The cake became an overnight sensation for the brand, Portillo's said as they sold more than 90,000 whole Lemon Cakes or 900,000 cakes slices last summer and even appeared on Jimmy Kimmel live.
