5 Indiana Carson's Stores Closing, Including Circle Centre Mall's

Months after announcing that at least 40 locations will close this year nationwide, Wisconsin-based Bon-Ton Stores on Wednesday released a list of Carson's and Bergner's locations set to close over the next few months, with five of those being Indiana locations, including Circle Centre Mall. Store closing sales are set to begin Thursday, and will continue for 10 to 12 weeks, the company said.

Five Indiana Carson's locations are on the list of closings:

• Circle Centre Mall in Indianapolis
• Mounds Mall in Anderson
• Fair Oaks Mall in Columbus
• Concord Mall in Elkhart
• Five Points Mall in Marion

"As part of the comprehensive turnaround plan we announced in November, we are taking the next steps
in our efforts to move forward with a more productive store footprint," said Bill Tracy, president and chief
executive officer for The Bon-Ton Stores. "Including other recently announced store closures, we expect
to close a total of 47 stores in early 2018. We remain focused on executing our key initiatives to drive
improved performance in an effort to strengthen our capital structure to support the business going
forward."

The stores are the latest in a long list of retailers that are shuttering amid competition from online retailers like Amazon.
