ANNAPOLIS, MD — Cracker Barrel will build a new restaurant across from the Westfield Annapolis mall, real estate representatives said recently. This will replace the former Fuddruckers, which closed years ago.

Rosso Commercial Real Estate Services announced the deal last Friday and said it represented the landlord.

Broker John Rosso expects Cracker Barrel to open in late 2024. The eatery is still working through permits with Anne Arundel County, he said.

Rosso said Cracker Barrel plans to build a brand-new, 9,100-square-foot restaurant with a patio spanning 1,300 square feet.

The 1.35-acre site is located at 175 Jennifer Road in the Annapolis Restaurant Park. The restaurant park spans 12 acres and includes Uncle Julio's, Smashing Grapes, Red Lobster, the Crowne Plaza hotel and Wells Fargo.

Rosso said it also brokered Uncle Julio's lease when it replaced Famous Dave's several years ago.

Cracker Barrel specializes in country-style food like chicken and dumplings, meatloaf and roast beef. The restaurant also serves breakfast all day.

The eatery has a country store attached that sells toys, candy, clothing and rocking chairs.

Formally known as Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Rosso said the business has more than 665 locations spread across 42 states.

This will be the 10th Cracker Barrel in Maryland. The others are in:

  • Bel Air
  • California (Lexington Park)
  • Elkton
  • Frederick
  • Hagerstown
  • LaVale
  • Linthicum Heights
  • Stevensville
  • Waldorf

Ryan Minnehan and Jake Levin from KLNB represented Cracker Barrel for their Annapolis lease.
