Patch asked Nando's for a comment. This was their response:

"After a long and successful run, Nando’s has made the difficult decision to leave its restaurant in Annapolis. As Nando’s expands to Texas and other exciting US markets, we must be smart business stewards. Unfortunately, we were not able to come to reasonable terms with the landlord in the Annapolis Mall. The wellbeing of Nando’s employees is our top priority, and we are offering all of our full and part-time Nandocas in Annapolis the opportunity to grow with us at our existing locations in Maryland. Our last day of operation at Annapolis Mall was December 23rd. We hope that Nando’s fans will visit our many nearby restaurants to satisfy their Nando’s fix, and we want to thank the Annapolis community for its incredible support over the years."
