Stafford Road Bridge Reopens After Reconstruction Project

The longest county-owned bridge, Stafford Road Bridge, has reopened after being shut down for an estimated nine months for reconstruction.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Stafford Road Bridge in Susquehanna State Park reopened to traffic recently after a reconstruction project.

At 225 feet in length, the Stafford Road bridge happens to be the longest county-owned bridge and was closed for approximately nine months.

Located along the Susquehanna River valley with its heavy forest cover and rocky terrain, Susquehanna State Park offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities. The park is home to some of the most popular mountain biking trails in Maryland and the river is popular among anglers, boaters and kayakers.

Susquehanna State Park also features a family-friendly campground with traditional campsites and cabins. History buffs will be drawn to the restored Rock Run Historic Area with its working gristmill, the Carter-Archer Mansion, Jersey Toll House and the remains of the Susquehanna & Tidewater Canal.
