$1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Bowie

While nobody in Maryland landed the whopping $564 million Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, two $1 million second prize Maryland Lottery tickets were sold.

Two Maryland buyers have tickets that matched the five white balls for the Feb. 11 drawing. One of the million-dollar tickets was sold at the Bowie Giant store, 15520 Annapolis Road.
The other $1 million ticket was purchased at Winner’s Circle Convenience store, 401 Dave Turney St. in Oakland, Garrett County. The two new Maryland millionaires matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing: the winning numbers of 11, 13, 25, 39 and 54. The Power Ball was 19.

The Powerball jackpot, which reached $564.1 million, was won by people in North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Texas. This third largest jackpot in Powerball history carried a cash option of $381.1 million.
For selling the second-tier winning ticket, the retailers each receive a $2,500 bonus. The winners have 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
