$1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold in Bowie

Did you buy a Powerball ticket at the Bowie Giant store for Wednesday's Powerball drawing? The store sold a million-dollar winner.

While nobody in Maryland landed the whopping $564 million Powerball jackpot on Wednesday, two $1 million second prize Maryland Lottery tickets were sold.

Two Maryland buyers have tickets that matched the five white balls for the Feb. 11 drawing. One of the million-dollar tickets was sold at the Bowie Giant store, 15520 Annapolis Road.

The other $1 million ticket was purchased at Winnerโ€™s Circle Convenience store, 401 Dave Turney St. in Oakland, Garrett County. The two new Maryland millionaires matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing: the winning numbers of 11, 13, 25, 39 and 54. The Power Ball was 19.

The Powerball jackpot, which reached $564.1 million, was won by people in North Carolina, Puerto Rico and Texas. This third largest jackpot in Powerball history carried a cash option of $381.1 million.

For selling the second-tier winning ticket, the retailers each receive a $2,500 bonus. The winners have 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
