$25K Reward Offered for Tips in Fatal Oxon Hill Shooting: Update

The man died Sunday night; he was found with upper body trauma in a parking lot, authorities said.

A shooting victim was found by police Sunday night in an Oxon Hill parking lot, according to Prince George’s County Police.

On Monday, police said the victim is Christopher Bess, 28 of no fixed address. Detectives do not believe this was a random act.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the homicide case.

Officers received a report of a shooting along Southern Avenue near Southview Drive in Oxon Hill around 6 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, officers found Bess outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died a short time later at an area hospital.

Detectives are trying to establish a suspect(s) description and a motive.
