Victim Identified; $25K Rewards in Two Homicide Cases (Update)

Three people were shot in Capitol Heights -- one fatally -- and a man was killed in Landover Hills early Wednesday morning.

UPDATED at 2:45 p.m.

A $25,000 reward is being offered for leads in each of two overnight homicides in the county, as police Wednesday afternoon identified the victim in one case.

The Prince George’s County Police Department says George Nathaniel Sallis, 25, of Jade Court in Capitol Heights was shot to death before 1 a.m. Detectives do not believe this was a random act. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case.

Patrol officers were called to the 6800 block of Jade Court for the report of a shooting, where they found Sallis inside a car suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Two other victims were also shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition.

In the second homicide, reported about 5:05 a.m. Wednesday, officers were called to the intersection of Annapolis Road and Cooper Lane for the report of an assault. Officers found a man outside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The victim’s name will be released once his family has been notified, authorities said.

Detectives are working to identify the motive and suspect(s) in this case.

Two homicides were recorded early Wednesday morning in Prince George’s County – the first as part of a triple shooting in Capitol Heights and the second death in Landover Hills, authorities say.

In the Capitol Heights case, two people were taken to area hospitals in critical condition and one man was pronounced dead. Prince George’s County Police said on Twitter that officers were called to the 6000 block of Jade Court at 12:37 a.m. for a reported shooting.

At the scene officers found a man in a car who had died from gunshots wounds, plus two people critically injured.

A female victim suffered gunshot wounds to her back, and a male with wounds to the abdomen and arm.

The shooting happened in the Heritage Knolls subdivision, reports WJLA.

Just after 5 a.m. a second homicide was reported at Annapolis Road and Cooper Lane in Landover Hills, police say.

Officers found an unresponsive man suffering from trauma to the body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine motives and find suspects in both cases.

Authorities plan to release more information later Wednesday morning.
