One Killed in Interstate 95 Crash Near I-195: Officials

One person died in a crash on Interstate 95 south near I-95 Tuesday evening, according to the Baltimore Office of Emergency Management.

The collision involving two vehicles occurred before 6 p.m., the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART) reported. After 7:30 p.m., two lanes and the right shoulder remained closed on I-95 south in the area.

A man had been fixing his pickup truck on the shoulder when he was hit by a passing car, The Baltimore Sun reported.

Transportation officials advised commuters trying to take I-95 south of the city to use MD 295 or I-695 as alternate routes.
