Lakefront Live Movie Screenings Offer Free Flicks Through September

The Lakefront Live free movie screenings fall on Fridays and Monday through September with a variety of showings.

COLUMBIA, MD — There's plenty of time left in the summer to catch a movie in downtown Columbia. The Lakefront Live movie screenings feature some of the biggest blockbusters of all time, along with cult classics, hidden gems and new favorites.

All movies begin playing at dusk (around 8:30 p.m. in early summer and 8-8:15 p.m. in late summer). All films are closed captioned and can be watched on Fridays and Mondays.

The next free movie night will be Friday, July 14, with a showing of Top Gun: Maverick featuring Tom Cruise. Other movies slated for showing in July and August include Encanto, The Woman King, Wall-E, Strange World, The Mitchells vs. The Machines, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Toy Story 4, Mission Impossible: Fallout and DC League of Super-Pets.

Movies will be shown at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront, 10221 Wincopin Circle.

Clarksville Commons also is hosting outdoor movies including The Princess Bride on July 12, Inside Out on July 19, Star Wars: The Force Awakens July 26 and more.

Merriweather Movie Nights will be showing Black Panther July 18 and Clueless on Aug. 23.
