Havre de Grace Visitor Center To Be Revamped

The Visitor Center in Havre de Grace will be renovated in the coming months.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The city of Havre de Grace is going to renovate the visitor center on Pennington Avenue.

At the most recent meeting of the Havre de Grace City Council, Director of Economic Development Bridgette Johnson gave a status update for the project.

"We are currently proceeding through the permit process and securing a design-and-build firm to renovate our visitor center on Pennington Avenue," Johnson said. "The goal is to award a contract to a deserving company during the month of April, with renovations to start this summer."

Due to construction, the Havre de Grace Visitor Center will temporarily move during the period of renovation.

The Havre de Grace Visitor Center will be temporarily relocated to 203 North Washington Street, in the spot where Amanda's Florist used to be, according to Johnson.

Amanda's Florist closed at the end of August after nearly 34 years in business so the owner could travel.

At the Havre de Grace Visitor Center, people can get bus schedules, tickets to local events, gifts, event planning contacts, historical information about the city of Havre de Grace and more.
