Grandmother, Granddaughter Killed In Middle River Double Homicide: Reports

A grandmother and her granddaughter were killed in Middle River, reports said. Police identified the double homicide victims.

MIDDLE RIVER, MD — A grandmother and her granddaughter were killed in this weekend's Middle River double homicide, The Baltimore Banner reported.

Police on Monday identified the victims as 75-year-old Iona Sellers and 29-year-old Autumn Harvey.

Autumn Harvey moved in with her grandmother a few years ago after her grandfather died, a relative told WJZ. Devin Harvey, Autumn Harvey's cousin, described her as a kind soul with a contagious laugh.

"She was a little bit shy, but once you got to know her and break out of her shell, she was just awesome," Devin Harvey told WJZ.

Devin Harvey, though not related to Sellers, told WJZ she was dedicated to her community and church.

"She was an awesome person," Harvey told WJZ. "[She would] give you the shirt off her back. They were very close. Autumn wanted to stay here with her grandmother because she didn't want her to be alone."

Homicide Investigation

Authorities said they were dispatched Sunday "for a check location call" in the unit block of Taos Circle around 9:50 a.m.

Police said they found the two victims "who sustained apparent trauma to the upper body."

Medics pronounced both victims dead on the scene, officers said.

Authorities did not identify a potential suspect or motive.

Detectives said they "are investigating the circumstances" surrounding the killings.

The Baltimore County Police Department asked anybody with information to call 410-307-2020. Callers can stay anonymous. Tipsters can also submit information through the county's iWATCH program at iwatch.baltimorecountymd.gov.

The Metro Crime Stoppers, an independent investigator, is also collecting anonymous tips and sharing them with officers.
