3-Year-Old Drowns In Rockville Neighborhood Pool: Police

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 3-year-old boy drowned Friday in a Rockville pool, the Montgomery County Police Department said. No foul play is suspected.

About 11:44 p.m. Friday, the Montgomery County Emergency Communications Center received a call for a missing boy. Rockville City Police responded to Elmcroft Court, where the child was found in the neighborhood pool.

Rockville City officers performed CPR on the boy, who was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the department said.

The child’s name will not be released by authorities.

While police did not specify whether the child was autistic, the Montgomery County Police Autism/IDD Unit reminded residents to call 911 immediately if someone at risk wanders.
