Since the coronavirus pandemic shut down large swaths of the Massachusetts economy, unemployment levels were reaching record highs every week.

As the state's economy re-opens in phases, many of those jobs are expected to come back, but not all of them will.

Massachusetts restaurant owners warned that 60,000 of the 150,000 jobs lost so far may never come back. Hotel and other hospitality employees have also been hit hard, particularly on Cape Cod and in western Massachusetts. According to a recent study by SmartAsset, unemployment in the Barnstable town area has increased the 34th most in the United States.

But despite unemployment claims climbing, a good number of employers are currently searching for workers in Massachusetts.
