Massachusetts Storm Updates: Floods Still a Concern

A coastal flood advisory was in effect from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

BOSTON, MA - A system that triggered winter storm and blizzard warnings battered coastal communities, which saw severe flooding and blizzard-like conditions.

Snow started to ease up in some areas by the early evening, but Southeastern Mass. wasn’t out of the woods. A coastal flood advisory was to be in effect for from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The temperatures will drop overnight as arctic air moves in and snow moves out. Tuesday could see a few flurries early, but nothing significant.

Monday’s snowfall fell short of initial predictions inland as the storm started late before escaping to the ocean. The National Weather Service’s unofficial measurements had just under five inches at Logan Airport.
