Rail Trail Flatbread In Milford Seeks Outdoor Seating Space

The new downtown Milford restaurant will have its first summer season in 2024 after opening in December.

MILFORD, MA — Open just over three months, the Milford Rail Trail Flatbread restaurant is already expanding.

The Milford Select Board on Thursday will hold a public hearing over a request by the owners to allow outdoor food and alcohol service, according to an agenda. Following state action during the pandemic, town select boards now have the authority to approve outdoor dining arrangements.

Rail Trail Flatbread opened its Milford restaurant on Dec. 12 after years of anticipation. The restaurant took over the former Rockland Trust bank at 233 Main St. — just a few blocks from the Upper Charles Trail entrance near the Milford Senior Center.

The first Rail Trail Flatbread opened in downtown Hudson in 2012, part of a resurgence of that's town's downtown area — now one of the busiest in the region. The Hudson location has seasonal outdoor dining areas in front of the restaurant along Route 62, and in the rear.

Thursday's public hearing will be held at 2 p.m. at via Zoom.
