News release from Natick Community Organic Farm.

The Natick Community Organic Farm (NCOF) announces the celebration of its 50th anniversary. The Farm’s year-long observance will include family-focused events, fundraising, a new logo and, in time, a refreshed website. The celebrations began this evening with a celebration of the new barn, thanking supporters who made its rebuild possible.

Farm Fest on May 11th will be a fun and educational event for the whole family. Enjoy farm demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, Trolley Dogs food truck, beer from Exhibit A Brewing, local vendors and of course, fresh air. The Farm's very roots go back to the collaboration of three Natick-based organizations that conceived of the farm as a means of providing much-needed summer jobs to local young people in 1974. Today, the Farm is located on 27 acres of productive open space preserved forever as conservation land by the townspeople of Natick in April, 2009. Its stone-free fields have been farmed continuously for over 350 years.

The Farm actively enhances the health and well-being of the community, the land, and animals by farming sustainably and educating the next generations about stewardship, ecology, and personal responsibility. NCOF also offers hands-on education, farm products, and productive open space for all ages, year-round.

Today, the Farm:
● Provides open access 365 days a year.
● Welcomes 20,000 visitors a year.
● Has 30 acres of open space and serves 26 communities.
● Produces 18,000 eggs a year, 1,600 pounds of meat and 16,000 pounds of produce.
