How Do I Comment on Patch?

There's a new commenting system on Patch. Here's how you can let your voice be heard loud and clear.

You’re all getting used to the new look of Patch.com, but have you tried to comment yet?

Well, what are you waiting for? The new commenting platform on Patch.com is powered by the third-party application Disqus. It’s real easy to use, but there are a few ground rules.

Let’s go over them now:

To comment, you’ll need to login via Disqus, Facebook, Twitter or Google.

You need to provide a valid email address to comment on Patch.com. Take note: Comments that are associated with an unverified account are held in the “pending moderation” queue. If you want to see your comment as soon as possible and keep talking to your neighbors, use a verified account. Explicit and racist language will not be tolerated on Patch. If you swear, your comment risks being held in “pending moderation.” If your language is threatening, harmful to others or invades someone’s privacy, it will be moderated and deleted from the site.

Comments are posted on the Disqus site first and will appear in your Disqus Inbox before Patch. You may have to wait a bit before you see your comment on Patch. That’s a Disqus thing and not a Patch thing. It’s just posting “globally” on the Internet. Give it some time and you’ll see it!

Why do we use Disqus? Because it’s awesome.

There are some great features in Disqus and you’re going to love it too. Here are some of the great things you can do now while engaging in discussion on Patch:
