WAYLAND, MA — An anticipated new pizza concept is now serving pies in Wayland.

The Wayland Pizza Company opened its doors this week, serving scratch-made thin crust pizza. The restaurant will operate out of The Local at the Wayland Town Center. The restaurant promises an elevated pizza experience.

"We only use double zero lour, imported olive oils, San Marzano tomato sauce, grande whole milk mozzarella and fresh grated Romano cheese!" the restaurant says.

The new pizza restaurant first revealed itself in March, promising an April opening, but formally announced the opening on Wednesday. Apart from pizza, the restaurant offers a variety of Italian appetizers, salads and sandwiches, including garlic bread and meatball subs. See the full menu here.

The owners of The Local are behind the new pizza concept. The restaurant opened in the town center in 2013. The local chain also operates The Local restaurants in Wellesley and Waltham.
