WESTBOROUGH, MA — No sweat: this Westborough hiking challenge isn't even as long as a marathon.

For its 25th anniversary, the Westborough Community Land Trust is challenging local residents to hike 25 miles this summer along any trail in town. Anyone who completes the challenge will join an elite club of local hikers — and get a commemorative patch.

Some of the suggested WCLT hikes range from short, like the 0.4-mile Gilmore Pond loop (wheelchair-friendly), to hikes longer than five miles, like a 5.4-mile figure eight that connects Walnut Hill, Cedar Hill and Crane Swamp. Find a full list of suggested hikes on the WCLT's website.

"You are welcome to complete the 25 miles any way you wish, but you are encouraged to try some new trails this year. Be sure to comment with trail selfies or favorite trail photos," the land trust said in a Facebook post.

If you complete 25 miles this summer, email your hikes to [email protected] to join the local hall of fame.
