Latest Vaccine Mandates Issued In Minnesota: LIST

More Minnesota companies, schools, and hospital systems will require that employees and students receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

MINNESOTA — The highly infectious delta variant of COVID-19 is spreading throughout the U.S. and Minnesota, spurring a surge in new cases and hospitalizations. In response, many companies, hospitals, and schools are now requiring their employees to get vaccinated against the virus.

The majority of Minnesota residents should be wearing masks while indoors, according to the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

These institutions in Minnesota have vaccine requirements:

University of St. Thomas

The University of St. Thomas Monday announced it will require all students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated before returning to campus for this fall. Read more here.

Carleton College

In April, Carleton College became the second Minnesota college to require that students and staff receive the COVID-19 vaccine before the fall semester. Read more here.

St. Olaf College

St. Olaf will require students and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before the fall semester begins. Read more here.

Hamline University

"Hamline University will require that all students and employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. To provide time for our community to follow this new policy, compliance is required by August 15, 2021," the university announced.

Minnesota College of Art and Design

"Effective fall 2021, all students accessing campus facilities and/or living in campus housing will be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19," the college announced.

Mitchell Hamline School of Law

"All faculty, staff, and students must be fully vaccinated to be on campus for fall semester, effective Aug. 1," the school announced.

Gustavus Adolphus College

"As announced on May 18, Gustavus is requiring students to be vaccinated for the 2021-2022 academic year," the college announced.

St. Catherine University

"We have determined that a vaccination requirement is the best way to keep our community safe and prevent potential outbreaks as we return to more regular, in-person operations," the university announced.

Allina Health

Allina Health announced Tuesday that it will make the COVID-19 vaccine a condition of employment at the health care system. Read more here.

First Avenue

First Avenue will require concert-goers to provide proof of vaccination. Read more here.

Mayo Clinic

The Mayo Clinic will require all of its employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Sept. 17, the Rochester-based hospital system announced. Read more here.

Sanford Health

"Sanford Health is taking another important step to ensure the safest possible environment for patients, residents and staff during the pandemic by requiring all employees to get a COVID-19 vaccination by Nov. 1," the health care system announced July 22.

Minneapolis Federal Reserve

All 1,100 employees of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of August unless they cannot get vaccinated due to medical conditions or religious beliefs. Read more here.

DCTC And Inver Hills Issue Mask Mandates

Both Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College are moving to a mask mandate for the fall semester, effective Aug. 9. Read more here.

Minneapolis, St. Paul

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter issued new masking guidance and restrictions in a joint announcement Tuesday. Both mayors will now require masks for people in city-owned buildings and for all city staff. Read more here.

University Of Minnesota Announces New Mask Mandate

Masks are now required for anyone in an enclosed or indoor space on the University of Minnesota campus and other Minnesota state colleges, officials announced Monday. Read more here.

Students Should Wear Masks During School: MN Dept. Of Education

All students, teachers, staff, and visitors in school buildings should wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status, the Minnesota Department of Education announced. Read more here.

Walmart

Employees at stores and facilities in areas with substantial or high rates of spread will be required to wear masks while working indoors. The company is also strongly urging all employees to get vaccinated against the virus as soon as possible.

McDonald's

The fast-food giant has mandated both employees and customers wear masks while inside at their restaurants if they're in an area with substantial or high rates of COVID-19 spread.

Home Depot

All Home Depot employees must wear masks while working, the company announced this week. Customers will be asked to wear masks and complimentary masks will be available at the door for shoppers.

Target

Target will again require employees to wear face masks if they're in an area with substantial or high spread, the retail giant announced Monday. The new policy will go into effect Tuesday. Read more here.

Kohl's

Any Kohl's employees working in an area with substantial or high COVID-19 transmission rates (as defined by the CDC) will need to wear masks whiles working. The retailer recommends shoppers also wear masks while inside stores. Employees are encouraged to get a COVID-19 vaccine and the company said it will provide resources to help workers get vaccinated.
