CONCORD, NH — State transportation officials have announced that the Exit 6 ramp on the Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16) in Dover will be closed Wednesday to allow for the construction of a new drainage pipe across the ramp. The one-day closure will be in effect on the southbound off-ramp 9 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Work may be delayed by one day in case of adverse weather, according to N.H. Department of Transportation (DOT).

During the closure, drivers going south on the turnpike wishing to use the Exit 6 off-ramp are asked to continue south to Exit 4 and then reverse direction onto Spaulding Turnpike North to Exit 6, where they will be able to access U.S. Route 4.

The work at Exit 6 is part of the $67 million Newington-Dover DOT project being undertaken by Severino Trucking Company of Candia. Severino is the prime contractor on the job. The work is scheduled to be completed by October 2020, DOT officials stated.
