2 Vehicle Burglaries Under Investigation In Manahawkin: Police

Two cars in Ocean Acres had their passenger windows smashed and purses stolen on April 15, Stafford police said.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Two vehicle burglaries are under investigation in Manahawkin and police are seeking information from the public.

On April 15, two motor vehicle burglaries occurred between 12:50 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in Ocean Acres, Stafford police said.

In both instances, someone smashed the passenger window and stole a purse, police said.

One vehicle was parked on Sloop Road near Nautilus Park, while the other was parked in the lot of Manahawkin Lake Park, police said.

Police also offered the following reminders to reduce the chances of being a victim to such crimes:

  • Lock your vehicle and close all windows
  • Remove all valuable belongings from your vehicle
  • For valuables that must remain in the vehicle, hide these items in the glove compartment or trunk
