'Jersey Shore' Cast Films Final Scenes In Seaside Heights

The show is moving on to another unnamed Jersey Shore town, Seaside Heights Administrator says

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ - Seaside Heights officials allowed the cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore" reality show to film briefly in the borough for two days this week, a symbolic farewell to the town where the show began years ago.

Township Administrator Christopher Vaz said the borough was approached by 495 Productions, which asked permission to film "very limited activities"and celebrate the birthdays of two of the cast members.

The cast was in Seaside to film on Wednesday and Thursday, on the boardwalk and at the house near Kearny and Fremont avenues where the reality show took place in the past, Vaz said.

"It was very limited, in the middle of the week," he said. "They did what they were here to do and they are out of Dodge."

Vaz said he consulted with the Township Council and Mayor Anthony Vaz (his father) about the limited filming and they all agreed to it.

The cast and the show will be filming in an unnamed Jersey Shore town for the remainder of Season 8, he said.

The production company did not divulge the name of the town, Vaz said.

"We'll just sit back and wonder where they are going to land," he said.

The original series debuted on MTV in 2009 and aired 71 episodes. It was controversial for its view of summer life in Seaside Heights, and the cast's antics, which included some boardwalk and bar fights. Many local residents weren't happy with the attention the cast drew.

That led to questions about where the cast would film the reunion show. Seaside Heights refused to grant them permits in 2017 when a brief reunion show was filmed. They ended up in Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach in June and July 2017.
