98% Of Residents At West Caldwell Senior Home Get COVID Vaccine
Hundreds of staff members and residents at a senior living facility in West Caldwell opted for a COVID-19 vaccination.
WEST CALDWELL, NJ — Hundreds of people at a senior living facility in West Caldwell recently got a COVID-19 vaccination, including a whopping 98 percent of its residents, administrators said.
As part of the state’s multi-phase rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine, Crane’s Mill in West Caldwell got a visit from CVS Pharmacy on Jan. 10. More than 400 residents and staff chose to get vaccinated.
According to a statement from Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, Crane’s Mill residents “have remained COVID-free since May.” But the arrival of the vaccine is nonetheless a big morale boost.

“We are excited that New Jersey has made the right decision and included long-term care, assisted living, and independent living residents and staff as a top priority for vaccination in our state,” administrators said earlier this month.
“While the vaccine is not a panacea, it is an important step towards making our community healthy and safe,” administrators added. “After nine long months, it is a ray of hope for many of our residents who have been isolated from their family and friends.”
