Community Donates $64K To Family Of Rockaway Middle Schooler Who Died Last Week

The Rockaway community has rallied around the family of Mallory Grossman following her sudden passing.

ROCKAWAY, NJ — Following her sudden death, the Rockaway community has rallied around the family of Mallory Grossman, donating over $64,000 to a GoFundMe funeral fund in just three days.

The fund has raised more than triple its goal of $20,000 to help offset funeral costs for the Grossman family.

"We would like to thank everyone for this extreme outpouring of love and support! We would like everyone to know that the Grossman family is thankful and humbled by all of this this," Katee Reddin Petro, the campaign organizer, wrote on GoFundMe. "Many of you know Dianne and Seth, but for those of you who don't, let me tell you, they are amazing people, and a force like I've never seen. They are movers and shakers and know how to make things happen! All of this generosity will help the Grossman family move a mountain for Mallory!"

Mallory was an avid supporter of charities, including her favorite cause Camp Good Days, which sends children affected by cancer to summer camps.

"Mallory was always trying to think of ways to make money to help her favorite charities, and helping other children, so please know that not only are your donations helping the Grossmans, they will be used to help others and if anyone can make things happen it's Dianne," Reddin Petro wrote in a Monday morning update.
