2 Deaths, 55 Coronavirus Cases Reported In Somerset County

Deaths were reported in Bridgewater and Franklin Township on Sunday.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — 17 new positive cases of the new coronavirus were reported in Somerset County on Sunday afternoon bringing the total to 55 in the county, according to Somerset County Department of Public Health and Safety.

The first death in the county was reported on Sunday in Bridgewater. (See Related: First Coronavirus Somerset County Death Reported In Bridgewater)

A second death was reported in Franklin Township of a man in his 70s on Sunday as well, the Township Office Of Emergency Management announced Sunday evening.

The number of coronavirus cases in New Jersey is now approaching 2,000 following Gov. Phil Murphy's announcement that 590 more cases were reported on Sunday, along with four more deaths. The total number of cases in New Jersey is now 1,914, and 20 people have died because of the coronavirus.
