JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City's annual July 4th Street Fair will return this year with Grucci fireworks, several stages of music, and 60 food trucks and vendors, the city announced Wednesday.

"Local DJ's will play from multiple stages," the city noted in a release.

Unlike last years — when headliners included Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Akon, and Kool & The Gang — no headliner was announced for this year. The city declined to comment on numerous occasions when asked why they do not have a headliner this year.

The fair will run from noon to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4.

In recent years, Jersey City’s July 4th festivals have attracted crowds of nearly 200,000 people, the city noted.

“We have grown our annual Fourth of July celebration to the point where it has become a yearly tradition for families and friends across the tristate area, and we are excited to provide another fun-filled Independence Day yet again this year," said Mayor Steven Fulop. "Jersey City has so much to offer."

Hosted by the City of Jersey City, the street fair will take place in partnership with Jersey City Night Market along Montgomery Street at Exchange Place, highlighting small businesses. There will be at least 60 vendors.

Christine Goodman, Director of Jersey City’s Office of Cultural Affairs, said, “This year’s street fair will include a wide range of vendors offering delicious foods, drinks, entertainment, apparel, and more. It is going to be another year of great family fun and incredible fireworks to end the celebrations.”

Roads surrounding Montgomery Street will be closed for the duration of the event. Anyone planning to attend is strongly encouraged to arrive by foot, bike, or public transportation, as parking will be extremely limited. (There is a PATH stop at Exchange Place. The Exchange Place light rail stop will be closed. Attendees are advised to use the Harborside or Marin Boulevard stops.) Bike JC will offer free bike valet parking to encourage alternative transportation.
