"Although our students will not be attending school in person during the virtual school sessions, these days are counted by the NJ Department of Education as official school days. Extra-curricular activities and sports are suspended for the present time but we will update you as soon as possible."

Presumptive positive means the person tested positive in state labs. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ultimately confirms the test. So far, 100 percent of the state's positive tests have been confirmed.

DiMaso issued this statement:

“These sorts of decisions are never made lightly and school officials have been presented with copious information and guidance from the Department of Health and the medical community in making the decision to close the high school.

"The single student who is presumptive positive is as a direct result of contact with a prior confirmed COVID-19 case. We are getting up-to-date information continuously.

"Red Bank Regional officials have made the right call here for the public health safety of our residents and I fully support them in this.”
