LIVINGSTON, NJ — For some people, the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida has sadly become an all-too-common tragedy that is lost in a graveyard of other violent shootings across the nation.

Not for Rayna Stern.

The Livingston High School student is once again taking up a call to action in the name of Jaime Guttenberg, a victim of the shooting. On Wednesday, April 17, she is helping to spearhead the Orange Ribbons for Jaime NJ Gala benefit, which will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. at Crystal Plaza, 305 West Northfield Avenue in Livingston. The event will raise funds for Orange Ribbons for Jaime, a charity devoted to advancing “common sense gun safety” in Guttenberg’s name.

“As a high school student, I believe it's crucial to speak up against gun violence and lend a helping hand wherever possible,” Stern writes as part of a plea for aid.
