Livingston Township Offices To Close On Christmas, New Year's Day

LIVINGSTON, NJ — On this Friday and next — Christmas and New Year's Day, respectively — Livingston Township's offices will be closed.

Garbage and recycling will not be collected on these holidays, the township also announced in a news release.

On Christmas, residents who usually have a Tuesday/Friday garbage pickup schedule will have trash picked up on the following scheduled day, Dec. 29. Zone 5 recycling will be collected on Dec. 26.

The township said no metal will be collected on Christmas Day.

Similarly, residents with a Tuesday/Friday garbage schedule must wait until the next regularly scheduled day, Jan. 5, to have trash collected. Zone 5 recycling will continue on Jan. 2.

While township offices will be closed, the annual township reorganization meeting will still go on as scheduled for New Year's Day. The ceremony will be streamed live on Facebook and Zoom.

During the ceremony, Shawn R. Klein will be sworn in as Livingston’s 2021 Mayor and Edward Meinhard will become Deputy Mayor.
