LIVINGSTON, NJ — More than 40 synagogues and community groups have invited people "of all ages and backgrounds" to their Unite for Israel Solidarity March starting in Livingston this Sunday, according to a North Jersey group.

The MetroWest Israel Action Committee, headquartered in Essex County, says they "are uniting thousands from more than 25 area synagogues, and institutions, to support Israel and condemn the unprecedented brutal terrorism perpetrated by Hamas."

On Saturday, the militant group Hamas killed 700 Israelis in one day, including children, and kidnapped hundreds of others off the street, according to international reports. Among those killed were more than 250 attending a music festival, the BBC said.

The march will start Sunday, Oct. 15, and go from 3 to 5 p.m.

Participants will gather at the Synagogue of the Suburban Torah, 85 West Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston.

They will march with a police escort to the Gazebo across from Town Hall, for speeches.

One 20-year-old soldier from Bergen County has died in the attacks, relatives have said. A 19-year-old Teaneck native who joined the Israeli Defense Forces is also missing.

And 20-year-old Mercer County man who was attending a music festival in Israel has also died in the attacks.

"We need him to come back," said the mother of missing DJ Lior Abramov on TV yesterday. "We need someone to go there and bring our babies back. It could be anybody's child. I'm a mother. He went there to dance."

"Although Israel has dealt with terrorism on a daily basis, in this most recent attack, Hamas has committed the most horrific atrocities and war crimes against Israel’s civilians," MetroWest said in a release. "These heinous acts include kidnapping children and the elderly, raping and mutilating women, and parading dead bodies in the streets of Gaza."
