Keyport Pot Shop On Front Street Has Grand Opening This Saturday

KEYPORT, NJ — Premo Cannabis, the brand-new marijuana dispensary in Keyport, will have its grand opening celebration from noon to 6 p.m. this Saturday.

Premo is located at 2 East Front Street in Keyport. Premo is licensed to sell recreational marijuana only.

The retail pot shop had a soft opening April 25, where they said they wanted to make sure "all our systems are all in working order, see how consumers respond to the menu."

This Saturday will be their grand opening, and they say it will be a "celebration." Mudd Brothers, a cannabis grower and manufacturer in South Brunswick, will also be on hand Saturday.

Both Mudd Brothers and Premo are black-owned businesses: Premo is owned by Keyport's own Donald "Donny" Blanks and his son, Skye Blanks. Donald is the owner of Keyport's Real Gymm, the old-school style gym, where he is also an athletic trainer.

The nearest pot dispensary is Monteverde in Red Bank, which was just approved for recreational sales in February; then Ayr Dispensary on Rt. 1 in Woodbridge and Garden State Dispensary (owned by AyrWellness) on Rt. 35 in Eatontown, which sells both recreational and medical marijuana.

More pot shops are coming: The Red Bank Planning Board gave preliminary approval to open a dispensary at 199 Riverside Avenue in Red Bank, right across the street from Strollo’s Lighthouse Italian Ice and by the Rt. 35 bridge.
