Bloomie's Opening This Fall At Grove At Shrewsbury

SHREWSBURY, NJ — It's not a rumor if it's true!

So says the Grove at Shrewsbury, in their announcement that yes indeed, a Bloomie's store is scheduled to open this fall 2024 at the Grove, the high-end collection of shops/eateries on the Red Bank/Shrewsbury border.

Bloomie's is a new concept launched by Bloomingdale's, as American department stores have had to evolve, re-brand and be re-imagined as they lose market share to online retailers and "fast fashion" chains such as H&M and Zara.

The Bloomie's will be located where the J. Jill used to be at the Grove. They did not give an exact month, but only say it will open in fall 2024. J. Jill moved across the street to the Grove West; the Brooks Brothers there closed in January :( and South Moon Under closed in the past year, as well.

Bloomie's is a much smaller version of a traditional Bloomingdale's, and the Shrewsbury Bloomie's will sell women's clothing only — no men's, kids' or household items. Bloomingdale's says the clothing offered at Bloomie's will be "highly curated and ever-evolving," so think lots of trendy, of-the-moment fashion trends that are in store one week and gone the next.

"Think a place so fun and lively you could easily pop in to see us week after week," says Bloomingdale's in their corporate description of Bloomie's.

Currently, there are only three other Bloomie's in the U.S.: Seattle, Washington, Fairfax, Virginia and Skokie, Illinois. Red Bank/Shrewsbury will be home to the fourth Bloomie's in the nation.
