MIDDLETOWN, NJ — There are now a total of 18 positive COVID-19 cases in Middletown as of Monday, March 23, the Middletown Dept. of Health and Social Services reported.

That includes a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in Lincroft. A prior positive case has already been reported in a resident at Tomaso Towers, another senior living complex in Middletown. That resident is currently hospitalized.

Due to HIPPA and privacy laws, Middletown could not release specific information about each of the 18 positive cases, such as their age or gender. However, "the majority are isolating at home," said Middletown Health Director Rich DeBenedetto.
