Move Over, Tesla. Lucid Electric Car Dealership To Open Its First NJ Store In Short Hills

MILLBURN, NJ — A new electric vehicle company whose cars can drive more than 500 miles on one charge will soon open its first New Jersey dealership in the Mall at Short Hills.

Lucid Motors announced this week that its new Lucid Studio in the mall, coming soon, will let visitors "get up close and personal with the groundbreaking Lucid Air luxury EV and learn more about our technology as well as the full vehicle lineup."

They noted, "We also augment our physical space with a cutting-edge virtual reality experience that visitors can use to explore the full range of models and options and configure their very own Lucid Air."

The dealership has not yet announced an opening date for the public, but says it will be soon. On the mall website, the shop is listed as coming to the lower level near Macy's.

The new store, or "studio," will be Lucid's first in New Jersey. Most locations are in California, but the company also has studios in Manhattan, Florida, and Canada.

On Reddit, fans of the company were excited by the idea of the new Short Hills store, comparing the cars to Teslas.

"Short Hills is the most luxurious mall in NJ," wrote a contributor. "It’s well known and well respected. Good for Lucid jumping on that property."
