4 More Presumptive Positive Coronavirus Tests In Bergen County

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ - Four more people from Bergen County, as well as two more from Middlesex and two more from Monmouth, account for the newest presumptive positive tests for novel coronavirus or COVID-19, according to Department of Health Commissioner Judith M. Persichilli.

Persichilli said the breakdown of new cases are three men and five women, ranging in ages from 17 to 65.

Wednesday's news comes one day after the announcement of the first death of a new coronavirus patient in New Jersey. Gov. Phil Murphy and Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver announced that the first New Jersey resident to die from COVID-19 was a 69-year-old man from Little Ferry in Bergen County.

The Little Ferry man who died had a history of diabetes, emphysema and hypertension, officials said. He had no history of traveling outside of the United States, although he did travel back and forth to New York, officials said.

Two of the new cases are not linked to other patients or areas where coronavirus is prevalent.
