Morris Magic Shop Owner Charged With Child Porn Possession: Officials

Investigators found suspected child pornography on the man's computer after receiving an anonymous tip, Morris County authorities said.

BUTLER, NJ — Authorities have charged a Butler-based magic shop owner after finding suspected child pornography on his computer, said the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

Scott Morley, 48, was charged on May 15 with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Officials confirmed that he was connected to Morley's Magic Theater, a magic shop and performance space in Butler.

An anonymous tipster informed the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that Morley might be in possession of child pornography, said authorities on Wednesday.

A search of Morley's electronic devices uncovered suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM), said Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll and Butler Police Chief Scott Ricker.

The theater's website and Facebook page were down as of late Wednesday morning. Attorney information for Morley was not immediately available.

Officials said Morley has been released from jail on pre-trial supervision, with conditions including no unsupervised internet usage, no unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 18, and no leaving the state of New Jersey.
